Produced with a classic rifled barrel the CZ-USA 83 Pistol has a trigger mechanism of Double Action/Single Action.. The CZ-USA 83 Pistol features an ambidextrous manual safety, magazine catch and slide stop on one side. When the last cartridge of the CZ-USA 83 Pistol magazine has been fired, the slide is locked in its rear position. Bought the CZ 83 before I saw the SIG P232. Although I wish I had the P232, I am please with the CZ 83 - especially when consider the price differental. Had jamming problems, initially; but, the CZ people sent me new magazines and it has performed flawlessly. Still might get the P232, though - have other SIGs and I am very pleased.
